The Malbec for the Miperal grows on a small slope at an extreme altitude of 1250 meters in El Peral. The vineyard area measures just 0.3 hectares with very old, 100-year-old vines. Miperal is Jose Lovaglio Balbo's top wine and there are only a few hundred bottles a year. The fermentation takes place in open wooden barrels, after which it matures for 12 months in French oak barrels in second and third use. Dark ruby red to black. Almost oily consistency in the glass. An unbelievable variety of aromas on the nose, ravishingly intoxicating, so lush, even the nose has absolute potential for addiction. Dark berries, thick, black, ripe, juicy blackberries, amarena cherries, pepper, wild aromas, chocolate, fine Provençal herbs and light earthy aromas. Voluptuous and round on the palate with fleshy, very juicy tannins and a lively acidity, all with a wonderful length. One can already feel privileged if one has a few bottles of this in the cellar.
